Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risk – What You Need to Know

Register for this free educational program on understanding hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and who may be at increased genetic risk. BRCA mutations are found in people of different ethnic groups. However, 1 in 40 individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry carries a BRCA mutation. During this free educational program moderated by CBS3/CW Philly 57’s Stephanie Stahl, Dr.Susan M. Domchek of the University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Research Centerfor BRCA will help you

  • learn who is at risk for carrying a BRCA gene mutation.
  • understand the process of genetic counseling and testing.
  • discover the criteria for, and insurance coverage of, genetic testing.
  • develop strategies for talking about genetic risk and test results with family

This program is a partnership between LBBC and the University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Research Center for BRCA .
