Hebrew Ulpan and Yiddish Classes at Gratz College

HEBREW ULPAN

6 week Hebrew session starting the week of July 8

Classes held at Gratz College and in the Western Suburbs

Introduction to Hebrew-Learn to read and write Hebrew while mastering at least 50 words

Level ILearn present and past tenses and gain 300 vocabulary words.   

Level II - Learn future tense and more advanced grammar. Use skills in conversation.

Level III - Learn to conduct conversations for day-to-day situations.  

Level IV - Gain over 500 vocabulary words and begin to generate mature sentences.   

Level V -Includes sophisticated materials including journalistic articles & literary works  

 Level VI - Advanced Hebrew language, modern and classic literature and discussion

Biblical Hebrew course offered

YIDDISH LANGUAGE

Yiddish  - Beginners   

Develop basic vocabulary and beginning competency in speaking, reading and writing.

Tuesdays, 10:00 - 12:00 Noon

4 week session: July 9 - 30 at Gratz College 

 

Yiddish  - Advanced

Continue to build conversational skills through folk songs, poetry and literature 

Tuesdays, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

4 weeks: July 9 - 30 at Gratz College
