Despite the state’s announced intent to shut down Solomon Charter School, the publicly funded cyber school in Philadelphia’s Chinatown section actually expanded in its second academic year. The school still teaches Chinese and Hebrew and offers kosher food, even though no Jewish students have enrolled.

The good news for Israel in President Obama’s speech at the United Nations was his insistence that any steps Iran takes to solve the standoff over its nuclear program be transparent and verifiable. The bad news: Obama didn't say what those steps should be.
