Questions and Answers We're happy to respond to inquiries at the Jewish Exponent, and we try to answer every e-mail as quickly as possible. But before you write in, please browse our most Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I place a life-cycle announcement (engagement, marriage, anniversary, reunion notice, birth announcement with photo) in the Jewish Exponent?

You can mail it to: Delores Michaels, c/o the Jewish Exponent, 2100 Arch St., 4th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103; or e-mail it to: [email protected]. The cost to print an announcement with a photo is $75. If you are submitting a birth announcement with a photo that includes an older sibling, the cost is $90. Please include a daytime phone number in case of any questions, and a self-address, stamped envelope if you would like your photo returned. If you are e-mailing the announcement and wish to pay by credit card, please leave a phone number where you can be reached. Photos may be e-mailed using the JPEG format at 300 resolution. You may also send a check separately by mail (just note that you are doing so on the announcement copy). It takes two to three weeks upon receipt to appear in the paper.

How do I place an event in the Community Calendar?

The Community Calendar will print, free of charge, event listings for synagogue- and Jewish-sponsored events. All items publicized in the calendar must be open to the entire community, and take place in the five-county Greater Philadelphia area or in nearby South Jersey.

When submitting an event for publication, be sure to include the date, time, event sponsor and location. Also include any information regarding speakers and/or topics. Events held during Shabbat hours will not be published. Be sure to include a contact number that can be printed in the calendar. Any fees for event participation will not be published.

The deadline for calendar items is 12 days prior to the issue date in which you'd like your event to appear. If your notice is received earlier, it will appear in the "Upcoming Events" section of the calendar, if space allows.

How do I send a press release to the Jewish Exponent?
