Tzedek v’Shalom (meaning ‘Justice and Peace’) is a Reconstructionist Jewish congregation of about 50 families located in Newtown. Our structure is unique in that our congregation is not centered around one building.

Tzedek v’Shalom presents Justice and Peace Speaker Series

On Sunday, April 27, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Congregation Tzedek v’Shalom will continue its program on justice and peace in the Middle East.  

Speaker: Albert Algazi, former member of the Cairene Jewish community in Egypt

The video “Forgotten Refugees,” a documentary produced by the non-profit organization “the David Project” is about 50 minutes long. After the viewing, Albert will discuss the following as related in the video.

• Jewish life in Egypt

• Jewish impact on the economy

• The Arab culture impact on the Jews

• Jewish customs

• Personal life stories of the Algazi family
