With the end of the fighting in 1919, plans were drawn for a Peace Treaty and a new world order. To some extent, the opposite happened and the seeds of conflict resulting in World War II were sown. From a Jewish perspective, the end of the war saw the collapse of the Russian Empire, the establishment of an independent Poland and in the 1920s, the founding of the Soviet Union. The Ottoman Empire was dismembered by the UK and France and British Palestine was created in the land of Israel. Germany was thrown into chaos and the Weimar Republic ultimately was unable to withstand the rise of Nazism and Adolf Hitler. In this final presentation, come and learn about the great structural changes in world and Jewish life, 1919-1933. Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA.
