When members of the Pomegranate Guild sit down to stitch, they are making more than just table linens and wall hangings. They are reviving Jewish traditions through their work with textiles. Some create their works as heirlooms for their children;

Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework

September 3, 2014 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

At the opening meeting of the Philadelphia chapter of the Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework, we will create a personal wedding challah cover in needlework.

The Guild meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in the Library.  This year our theme is lesser-known Jewish Holidays including creating Ushpizin (Guests) for the Sukkah, Tatting a Jewish Star, Tu B'Shevat wall hanging of the seven species and Tu B'Av study session. Bring your own design, fabric (Aida cloth, muslin, brocade), threads and embellishments.

Members and non-members are invited to attend.
