While many films attempt to capture the spirit of resilience during the Nazi era, few directors succeed in imparting these stories from the point of view of a child. RUN BOY RUN tells the extraordinary true story of "Jurek" Srulik, an 8-year-old Polish boy who flees from the Warsaw ghetto in 1942. Like the hero of Europa, Europa, Jurek tries to hide his Jewish identity as he seeks safety wherever and with whomever he can. One of his most memorable connections is with Magda, a pretty Polish woman who risks her life to help Jews like Jurek pass as Catholic. Director Pepe Danquart offers a series of remarkable episodes in Srulik's life, as he heightens the film's unnerving claustrophobic atmosphere--the cinematography throughout RUN BOY RUN is particularly stunning. An unforgettable cinematic experience featuring exceptional performances and a soaring musical score, RUN BOY RUN continues to amaze and inspire festival audiences around the world.

Presented in remembrance of Kristallnacht.

Special Guest: Screenwriter Heinrich Hadding
