Milton & Betty Katz Early Childhood Education Center at Congregation Beth Israel

July 31, 2014 6:00 PM-7:30 PM

The Milton & Betty Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center at Congregation Beth Israel will host three wonderful free summer events for children.

“We invite the children of the Northfield, Linwood Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township communities to help us build our Katz JCC community through these three wonderful free events,” according to Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Director Traci Hazley. “These events are designed to introduce the children and their parents to the programs and services we offer on the mainland.”

On Thursday, July 31, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., join us for "Gardening with Shayna Gross." Harvest herbs and vegetables from the Beth Israel pizza garden and make fresh dough, sauce and more to make your own pizza at home with the family. Pizza will be served for dinner.

On Thursday, August 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., join Michele Pasciullo of Purple Lotus Mosaics to craft a mosaic tile garden stepping stone to place in the pizza garden at Congregation Beth Israel. Supplies will be included and pizza will be served for dinner.

Both events will be staffed by the educators and staff of the Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center. “These events that kick off the 2014-2015 school year are to introduce the Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center staff to the communities of Northfield, Linwood Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township as we begin our first year here at this wonderful site,” Hazley said.

On Thursday, August 14. at 3 p.m., the Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center at Congregation Beth Israel will officially open its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony, facility tours, kids crafts and games, music, food and more. The center will offer competitively-priced full- and half-day kindergarten and preschool programs along with options of extended AM and PM care.

“We are excited about bringing these free events to the community this summer,” CEO of Katz JCC Jack I. Fox said. “The extension of our program will allow us to meet the demands of early childhood and kindergarten education on the mainland. This is part of a larger development to service the residents of Northfield, Linwood, Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township and with managing the operations of the Congregation Beth Israel school, we now can.”

"The programs and services offered at the Congregation Beth Israel site of the Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center will follow the philosophy and high-standards that Katz JCC families have come to know and expect,” Fox continued.

Registration is required for the events by calling 609-822-1167 Ext. 131. The Katz JCC Early Childhood Education Center is open to everyone.
