Michael Solomonov at Adath Israel
SHABBAT MORNING: Michael Solomonov will join us in the Mandell Sanctuary for a discussion about his life, his food, and what led him to his love of cooking. He will speak at the conclusion of services at approximately 11:20 AM. Babysitting will be available for young children so all adult members can enjoy this experience together. Free and open to the entire community. No RSVP necessary.
SHABBAT KIDDUSH LUNCHEON: Experience the flavors of Solomonov’s featured recipes, cooked in-house by our volunteers. Sip on drinks which will be made by our Men’s Club, inspired by the Zahav cookbook. During the luncheon, you will be entertained by the sounds of David’s Harp, a band which plays Sephardic music from Turkey, Greece, North Africa and the Middle East. The band members play several interesting and unusual instruments, including the santuri, darbuka, zills and daf. Free and open to the entire community. No RSVP necessary.
SATURDAY NIGHT: As we conclude Shabbat, everyone is welcome to join us at 8:30 for a nosh, Havdallah and an exclusive screening of “In Search of Israeli Cuisine” featuring Michael Solomonov who travels throughout Israel and meets with the chefs, home cooks, vintners and cheese makers who have influenced Israel’s dynamic food scene. Free and open to the community, but RSVP is requested. RSVP to Nancy Black: [email protected] or 610-934-1919.
