Jewish Community Networking Night

April 8, 2014 6:00 PM-9:00 PM

Join the Philly AEPi alumni club and friends for a casual happy hour event where you can network with both alumni and local community organizations. We have a great menu and drink specials set up.

Dress well (business casual) to make a good impression and take advantage of our professional photographer who will be onsite taking photos and doing headshots. 

Reps from a variety of local Jewish and non-profit groups will be with us this evening so that we can learn about new ways to be involved in the community.

We'll be putting together an optional "networking book" at the event with everyone's professional and contact info to facilitate networking even if you don't get a chance to meet everyone during the event.

The Philadelphia Independence Network, a program of JEVS Human Services is hosting a symposium – Transition to Independence:  A Model for Young Adults with Disabilities.  Join us as our expert panel addresses socialization, life style, safety and employment challenges faced by young adults with disabilities as they prepare to take on the challenges of living more independent lives.  Learn about PIN, a supported independent living community where young adults with disabilities are overcoming these challenges.  Our panel includes Dr Natan Gottesman, a licensed psychologist working with young adults with disabilities; Ryan Hammond, Executive Director of the Kinney Center at St Joseph’s University; Amy McCann, Director of Carousel Connections, a supportive summer residential environment that promotes further development of "transition-related" skills and independence; Joe Cipolla, Director of Employer Services at JEVS; Marnisha Henry, Program Director for PIN and Jake Udell, a PIN participant.   Progam Schedule: 8:00am - Registration 8:30-10:00 am - Program 10:00-10:30am - Reception and Discussion
