Israel’s regional consul general to discuss events impacting Jewish state at TBI breakfast program.
Yaron Sideman, Israel’s Consul General to the Mid-Atlantic Region, will review recent global and regional developments that have helped shape Israeli domestic and foreign policy at a breakfast program hosted by the Men’s Club of Tiferet Bet Israel.
The program, which is open to the public, will also examine the current state of U.S.-Israeli bi-lateral relations. An optional breakfast will be available at a cost of $5.
As Israel’s highest ranking diplomat in the region, Sideman is responsible for interfacing with Jewish communities in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky and South Jersey.
A graduate of the Israel National Defense College, Sideman was charged with overseeing Israel’s relations with the U.S. Congress before coming to Philadelphia in 2012.
He previously headed the North American desk at the Diaspora and Interreligious Affairs Bureau, where he served as the Foreign Ministry’s liaison to numerous American Jewish organizations. Sideman has also served as Consul for Public Affairs at the Israeli Consulate in New York and as a political officer at Israel’s embassy in Lagos, Nigeria.
He holds a master’s degree in political science from Haifa University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from Tel Aviv University.
