Seymour Levin is a documentary filmmaker . He has worked on several notable projects including Steven Spielberg’s Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation and A World of Discovery for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As the son of Holocaust survivors and a certified Gestalt counselor, he is particularly drawn to projects that promote social justice and healing. His award winning feature length documentary, Hard Coal: Last of the Bootleg Miners, reveals the crushing injustices faced by independent coal mine owners.
Seymour also produced a piece for Drexel Medical School entitled The HeArt of Empathy: Using the Visual Arts in Medical Education and is currently producing a feature length documentary entitled Grieving Rounds which reveals the emotional challenges medical residents encounter while treating critically ill patients. Seymour has been instrumental in promoting films and filmmaking in Philadelphia and the surrounding area and we are proud to have him present this visual workshop.
