Book Discussion: The Plot Against America

April 30 @ 1:00 pm

Free

1 p.m.
The Plot Against America book discussion
led by Isaak Kruger
In this book, Roth imagines an alternate history where Franklin D. Roosevelt loses the 1940 presidential election to heroic aviator and rabid isolationist Charles A. Lindbergh. Shortly thereafter, Lindbergh negotiates a cordial “understanding” with Adolf Hitler. The United States government embarks on a program of folksy anti-Semitism. Lindbergh’s election is the first in a series of actions that threaten to destroy America as we know it. Copies of this books are available in the Meyers Library.

Philip Roth: A Legend for Our Time

an American Jewish author. Included are a lecture; short story discussion;
