Evelyn Sidewater, 97, active in many Jewish charities, died July 29 at her home in Wynnewood.

After moving to the Wynnefield area in the early 1940s, Sidewater and her husband, Morris (founder of Charming Shoppes Inc., the women's apparel retailer headquartered in Bensalem), became members of Har Zion Temple, where she was active in the Sisterhood for many years.
