Marvin Weiss, on November 12, 2017, age 84, of Hatboro, PA, lawyer and businessman, passed away peacefully in his sleep. Born in Philadelphia, the son of Max and Jean Weiss and brother of Charles Weiss, Marvin graduated from Girard College (Class of 1950), Harvard College (Class of 1955) and University of Pennsylvania Law School (Class of 1958) and he served two years in the US Army stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey, before starting a prestigious career as a corporate attorney for several center city law firms, including Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish, Korn and Levy and Eisen, Fineburg and McCarthy. He also served in executive positions at Atlantic Trailer Leasing, Prescription Delivery Systems and CorCell, a division of the Coriell Institute for Medical Research. Marvin was the beloved husband of Betty Weiss (née Goldman], devoted father of sons Michael (Niu) and Brian (Valerie) and grandfather of Ithaca and Kythira Weiss and Tyler and Hannah Weiss. Marvin was a generous supporter of several humanitarian organizations, including the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Greater Philadelphia and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith Philadelphia, where he served a term as the Chairman of the Metropolitan Philadelphia Advisory Board. He also received a number honors including, the Steven Girard Award, the Steven Girard Alumni Award of Merit and the Ben Gurion Lodge B’nai B’rith Award.
