Natalie Kruger Levine


    LEVINE, Natalie (Kruger) 95, of Media, PA passed away peacefully on January 29, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Reevan I. Levine, MD, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Steven Z. Levine & his wife Susan of Penn Valley, PA, and Herbert J. Levine & his wife Ellen Frankel of Philadelphia, PA. Loving sister of the late Rena Katz, Joseph Kruger, Leo Kruger and Israel Kruger. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Les and Madeleine and 3 great-grandchildren.

on November 27, 1918, she emigrated from Meretz, Lithuania to Boston in 1929.
Natalie graduated from Dorchester High School, Boston University’s College of Practical Arts and Letters, and Hebrew Teachers College, Summa cum Laude (1939).
She taught Hebrew school at Temple Beth El of Dorchester. She was a long-time member of Temple Emanuel, Newton, and Temple Sinai of Hollywood, FL, and taught Hebrew and Torah to adults at Temple Emanuel. She was active in the Hebrew College Alumni Association. For the last six years of her life, she resided at Martin's Run, a life care community in Media, PA, where she taught Yiddish and served on the Values and Welcome Committees.

    Funeral services will take place in Boston on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Hebrew College in Newton, MA or to the Martins Run Residents’ Fund at Martins Run in Media, PA.
