Sylvia, wife of the late Iso Briselli, died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on June 22, 2013. She is survived by daughter Susanna Boxenbaum (Charles), two sons, Michael (Jeannee), Robert (Carol), and two grandsons, Julian Boxenbaum and Matthew Briselli. Along with her husband, she was a committed and active member of the cultural life of the city, serving on the Women's Committee of the Philadelphia Orchestra, The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, The Women's Committee of Rittenhouse Square, The Lighthouse for the Blind, Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others. Her summers were spent on Long Beach Island where she served a term as president of The Foundation of the Arts & Sciences. Under her leadership, The Foundation raised more money and attracted greater participation from the community than in any previous year since its founding. Next to her family, Sylvia loved Philadelphia and worked with dedication and enthusiasm to enrich its life. She requested no funeral. Remembrances in her name may be made to any of the cultural organizations of Philadelphia.
