Making hamantashen so good Queen Esther would give her thumbs up: That’s what these sixth-graders from Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne did as a special Purim treat for the long-term care residents at Martins Run in Media. They also sang songs in Hebrew and Yiddish, accompanied by accordionist Benjamin Laden.

Simon’s Soiree had nothing but charitable thoughts at heart for its “Affair of the Heart,” held at the Sheraton Valley Forge. Close to 400 people attended and helped raise some $200,000 for Simon’s Fund, named after Simon Sudman, who died of an undisclosed heart ailment while a toddler.
