On May 15, Moishe House Philadelphia, the largest organization serving Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s, in partnership with the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center, hosted “It Happened to Us,” a Holocaust remembrance event that featured monologues of Holocaust survivor testimony.

The Bucks County Jewish Coalition celebrated its first Israel Festival, which featured remarks from Deputy Consul General of Israel Moran Birman, Israeli dancing, food, crafts and other entertainment.

More than 175 area Holocaust survivors attended the annual Café Europa Luncheon for Holocaust Survivors, sponsored by JFCS. The name originates from the café in Stockholm where survivors used to gather after the war searching for family and friends. In addition to lunch, the survivors were entertained by the songs of kindergarten children.

In celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut, children from Old York Road Temple-Beth Am used Legos to build the city of Jerusalem, danced and celebrated with songs and food.
