Israeli biochemist Dr. Avram Hershko is accorded the Fox Chase honor by Dr. Margaret Foti of the American Association for Cancer Research. Foti won the award last year.

The Fox Chase Cancer Center had a vintage celebration and fundraiser in its “In Vino Vita” wine auction, with funds raised targeting the purchase of top-equipped recliners for patients taking chemotherapy in Fox Chase’s infusion room.

The program also included the presentation of the 2014 Stanley P. Reimann Honor Award, Fox Chase’s top accolade, to Nobel laureate Dr. Avram Hershko; the Israeli biochemist won the 2004 Nobel in chemistry along with Fox Chase’s Irwin A. Rose and Israeli Aaron Ciechanover.
