Fred Blume age 72, chairman emeritus of the prestigious Blank Rome law firm in Philadelphia, died Monday, April 8, at his Penn Valley home after a long illness. Mr. Blume was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Feltonville. He graduated from Olney High School in 1959 and earned a bachelor's degree in 1963 from Temple University, where he graduated first in his class. He earned his law degree in 1966 from the University of Pennsylvania . Mr. Blume joined Blank Rome in 1967. Mr. Blume was the husband of Sylvia "Sivy" (nee Binder); father of Edward (Allison), Michael (Jill Steinberg), and Deborah Stutman (Steven); brother of Martin (Toni); grandfather of Maggie, Spencer, Peri, Will, Robbie, Jason and Zeke. Contributions in his name may be made to City Year Greater Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania Law School, or the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
