Becoming Barbra with William Mann

April 16, 2013 7:00 PM-9:00 PM

Acclaimed biographer William Mann (Katherine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor) comes to Philadelphia with his newest book, Hello Gorgeous: Becoming Barbra Streisand, a look into the early years of star Barbra Streisand.  Tracing her roots through the nightclub scene in New York and her background growing up in Brooklyn, to starring in Funny Girl and appearing with Judy Garland, Mann shows how a seemingly unlikely individual became one of the biggest stars of the twentieth century.
