Keneseth Israel, founded in March 1847, was the fourth congregation to be established by the expanding Jewish community of Philadelphia. Orthodox in observance at first, KI adopted reform in 1855, and thus became the first progressive congregation

Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, Melrose B’nai Israel Emanu-El and and the Meyers Library are sponsoring an evening with author, Maggie Anton Anton, the award-winning author of the historical fiction series "Rashi’s Daughters". Her most recent publication is "Rav Hisda’s Daughter." 

She is a Talmud scholar,with expertise in Jewish women’s history.
