Republican real estate developer Jeff Bartos announced Nov. 9 that he is abandoning his run for the U.S. Senate seat held by Bob Casey to instead run for lieutenant governor as part of a team with gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner, a state senator.
Bartos and Wagner, who lives in York and represents the 28th Senate district, will begin campaigning immediately.
“Jeff is a great guy who wants to change the way Harrisburg works. He’ll help me take on career politicians. He’ll help me change the way things have always been done in Harrisburg. He’ll help me make it work for you, the taxpayers — not special interests or insiders,” Wagner said in a news release.
Bartos is the president of ESB Holdings in Lower Merion and chairman of Jewish Federation Real Estate.
