Ernest Dellheim

The Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry Alumni Association presented Ernest J. Dellheim with its Distinguished Education Award in recognition of more than 40 years of service. The 1973 graduate, who received a certificate in prosthetic dentistry from the Boston University School of Dentistry, practices at Markowitz, Dellheim & Block in Narberth. A member of Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne, he’s been active in efforts to restore the Gladwyne Jewish Memorial Cemetery, Har Hasetim.



David L. Cohen

David L. Cohen, who served as vice chair the past two years, was named chairman of the board of the Philadelphia Theatre Company. The Mount Airy resident has received public service awards from the Jewish National Fund Tree of Life in 2012, the William Penn Award from the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce in 2012 and was named Philadelphia Business Leader of the Year by the National Urban League in 2008.



The American Jewish Committee (AJC) Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey installed five new board members at its annual meeting on June 28.

Fran Griesing: The founding and managing partner of Griesing Law LLC has represented clients for more than 30 years. The litigation chair of Philadelphia’s City Solicitor’s Office from 1997 to 2000, she’s played an active role on the board of directors for the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia’s Early Learning Services.

Marcel Groen: Chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party for nearly two years and a partner at Fox Rothschild, he’s been a member of the board of trustees of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park and a member of the board of directors of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

Will Schwartz: The principal and co-founder of INTECH Construction has past projects including Congregation Rodeph Shalom, the National Museum of American Jewish History and the Philadelphia 76ers Training Center in Camden, N.J.

Carole Weintraub-Kauffman: The owner and board member of BizTech consulting firm and founder and partner of The Robinson Group, is a principal of Beaumont Staffing and Consulting, which provides employment services on a national basis. She’s been providing volunteer assistance to Interfaith Hospitality Network.

Ben Strauss: Partner of Pepper Hamilton’s Wilmington, Del., office, he’s the head of its Delaware corporate and Israeli practices. The past president of the Delaware State Bar Association also serves as chair of the Israel Committee of Hillel of Greater Philadelphia and as a member of the Philadelphia division of the Israeli-American Council.
