The Renaissance Group of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia raised $106,672 at its annual Young Leadership Celebration to address the Jewish community’s most critical priorities in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and around the world.
The Renaissance Group of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia had a great kick-off to 2016, raising an astounding $106,672 to address the Jewish community’s most critical priorities in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and around the world at its annual Young Leadership Celebration.
The night was an opportunity for young adults in the Greater Philadelphia area to come together and support the Jewish community while enjoying live music, dancing, great food and drinks and a photo booth, as well as a slide show highlighting photos from the past year’s Renaissance Group events. The event, held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown’s Liberty Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 9, brought together close to 200 people to celebrate philanthropy and a successful year of fundraising and programming for the Renaissance Group. The Jewish Federation was thrilled to welcome 52 of the event’s attendees as new donors.
“The event really gives us an opportunity to thank our donors and leaders for the time, talent and treasure they give to our Jewish community all year long,” says Melanie Krutzel, Renaissance Group Director.
Throughout the year, the Renaissance Group brings together dedicated and passionate adults ages 21 to 45 who seek a Jewish connection and the opportunity to make a real difference in the community through volunteerism and fundraising. The group’s upcoming events include Party of 8 on Wednesday, Jan. 27, where individuals are assigned to a dinner party of eight people at one of eight restaurants in Philadelphia; the Couples’ Brunch on Sunday, Jan. 31, when couples will meet over brunch at Cuba Libre Restaurant; and Cook for a Friend on Monday, February 8th, when volunteers will cook and package meals for homebound seniors.
