Risa Vetri Ferman, the distict attorney for Montgomery County, has announced she will seek election to a Montco judgeship.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman has announced her intent to seek election to a judgeship in the county.
Elected to her current position in 2007, Vetri Ferman will retain her duties while campaigning, although she will not seek another term as district attorney. She was the first woman elected to the position of Montgomery County district attorney.
She, her husband and three children are active members of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park.
Vetri Ferman has been known for her stance in battling Internet exploitation of children. A co-founder of Mission Kids, a child advocacy group, she authored The Mouse Who Went Surfing Alone, which alerts youngsters to the potential dangers lurking on the web. Proceeds from the book benefitted Mission Kids.
