Learn what’s new and exciting at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia by attending its "Main Event" at the Loews Hotel on Nov. 2.

Where will you be on Sunday evening, Nov. 2? Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Center City is the place to be for Jewish community members interested in experiencing what’s new and exciting at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

Main Event co-chairs Dena and Morey Goldberg and Caroline and Robert Zuritsky invite you to be among the more than 800 guests expected to join in this festive celebration, which begins at 5 p.m.

Wear your finest dressy casual outfit and enjoy unique cocktails, dinner and treats from Six Points Kosher Events of Citron and Rose while watching carnival-inspired entertainment. View and bid on fabulous high-end auction items.

After dinner, hear television star Josh Malina of Scandal and the West Wing reminisce about growing up Jewish, and pay tribute to Sherrie R. Savett, Federation’s immediate past president.

Dena Goldberg described this year’s Main Event as “a FUN night where everyone can gather to socialize and learn more about Federation and the great work it does in the community.”

She emphasized that the evening is open to all community adults, with no minimum Federation gift required. The goal, she said, is “to attract new people who have never participated in Federation events, to re-engage those community members who are no longer involved and afford them an opportunity to meet current Federation leaders.”

Morey Goldberg shares his wife’s belief in the great works of the Federation and decided to take on the role of co-chair with his wife, Dena, “because of our desire to take this organization to a higher, more meaningful level.”

Morey’s involvement in Federation began with his participation in Federation’s Mission 1000 in 1989, where he met fellow co-chair, Robert Zuritsky.

Both men recall the cohesiveness and strength of both Federation and the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community at that time and believe that this event will usher in a new era of dynamic Federation programming and events.

“Caroline and I consider Dena and Morey to be our best friends and we were happy to co-chair the event with them,” Robert reported, adding that all four co-chairs “became excited about the event following a discussion with Federation President Bud Newman, CEO Naomi Adler and the rest of the Federation leadership team.

“With the new leadership that is in place, there is a great amount of energy, innovation and passion that I haven’t experienced since traveling to Israel on Mission 1000,” he enthused.
The co-chairs emphasized that there will be no solicitations or card-calling at the event, which has a couvert of $125 per person.

Complimentary self-parking will be available at the Parkway Corporation Garage at 12th and Filbert Sts. (above Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant).

All who attend, said the chairs, will enjoy unique entertainment, great food and — most importantly — will learn more about what Federation involvement can mean to Main Event guests and their families.
