Beth Chaim Reform Congregation in Malvern will officially welcome Rabbi Michelle Denker Pearlman with a special Shabbat service.
Rabbi Michelle Denker Pearlman, newly installed as religious leader of Beth Chaim Reform Congregation in Malvern, will be officially welcomed by the congregation with an ice cream social as she leads her first Shabbat service on Aug. 1.
She assumes the pulpit from Rabbi Aileen Hollander, who is now the congregation’s director of religious education.
Pearlman comes to the Malvern synagogue from the Jewish Federation of Monmouth County in New Jersey, where she served as director of community engagement. In that capacity, she spearheaded a reconstruction effort of homes ravaged by Storm Sandy.
Prior to her role at Federation, Pearlman served as rabbi at Monmouth Reform Temple in Tinton Falls, N.J.
