PhillyIsrael and the local Israeli Consulate are working with other communal leaders to show support as the situation in the country heats up.
Community leaders active in Israel advocacy met at the Israeli Consulate in Center City Wednesday to discuss how Philadelphia Jews can support Israel as violence escalates in the Middle East.
PhillyIsrael, a grassroots organization that facilitates Israeli cultural, educational and social programming, is collaborating with other groups, including the local office of the Zionist Organization of America, to plan the rally, which will be held at noon on July 11 at the corner of 19th Street and JFK Boulevard.
"Visiting Israel now and buying Israeli products is a great way to show moral support and it boosts the Israeli economy at a time when others are cancelling trips out of fear," Sharona Durry, founder and director of PhillyIsrael, said in a statement. "There are things we all can do to help — let's get started.”
This is a developing story.
