Kaiserman JCC held an official pool party to mark the opening of its new outdoor facility.
It was time for the official splashdown as the Kaiserman JCC on the Main Line, after some lingering controversy over the closing of its deteriorating indoor pool in 2013, opened a new outdoor pool on a sunny Sunday.
Some 200 swimmers, sunbathers and the occasional belly flopper attended the June 22 opening. Those seeking a nosh didn't have to swim too far as the day also marked the opening of the Kaiserman's Nana's Kitchen outdoor cafe.
As part of the facility's promotional appeal, the pool parties will continue on Tuesday "Dollar Dog Nights," which include kosher franks grilled poolside.
Plans are in the making for family-oriented movies to be shown by the pool as well. Kaiserman and Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El are also in talks about conducting a poolside Havdalah service.
