A recent soiree in Valley Forge brought in about $200,000 to a charity that raises awareness of heart ailments in children.
Simon’s Soiree had nothing but charitable thoughts at heart for its “Affair of the Heart,” held at the Sheraton Valley Forge. Close to 400 people attended and helped raise about $200,000 for Simon’s Fund, named after Simon Sudman, who died of an undisclosed heart ailment when he was a toddler.
His parents, Darren and Phyllis, started the organization in 2005 to help pay for children’s heart screenings and to educate about the need to be alert for heart ailments in youngsters.
This event took the cake, though, courtesy of the famous TLC TV Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro.
