Rabbi Charles Sherman returned to his native Philadelphia recently to discuss and sign his book, The Broken and the Whole: Discovering Joy After Heartbreak, at Har Zion Temple.
The rabbi is the longtime religious leader of Temple Adath Yeshurun in New York. He has written for a number of publications, including The New Yorker and The New York Times.
His daughter, Rabbi Nogah Marshall, education director at Har Zion, introduced him to the morning's gathering.
