U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) headlined the national ZOA convention in Philadelphia.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), a staunch Tea Party supporter and backbone of the Republican Party's conservative branch, addressed the Zionist Organization of America's national convention in Philadelphia on Sunday. She hailed Israel and derided the Obama administration's at-times contentious relationship with the Jewish state.
MeanwhiIe, Morton Klein of Lower Merion, unchallenged during his 20-year reign as national ZOA president, beat back his first serious competition. Steve Goldberg, of Los Angeles, who had criticized Klein's direction of the organization and its recent financial malaise, lost in an election on Sunday afternoon, with Klein taking 93 percent of the vote and retaining his top post.
