The beat goes on for the American Heart Association, whose 57th annual Philadelphia Heart Ball was recently held in Center City. More than 700 participants avoided the snow balls forming outside to help make the ball inside the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott a major event, with close to $2 million raised. Funds will go toward heart disease and stroke research and education in the area. Dr. Morris Kotler, chairman emeritus, Division of Cardiovascular Disease, Einstein Medical Center, and recipient of the evening’s Edward S. Cooper, M.D. Award, is joined here by his wife, Marcie.
