The group, called Jewish Pride, seeks to engage lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered men and women ages 40 and older.
Co-Chairs Lynn Zeitlin and David Gold announce the launch of Jewish Pride, a Federation affinity group for Jewish lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered men and women ages 40 and older.
The group will hold its inaugural event on Wednesday, March 5, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Valanni, 1229 Spruce St., in Philadelphia. Cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres will be served at a cost of $36 per person.
Zeitlin describes the event as “an opportunity to learn how Federation is engaging and serving Philadephia’s LGBT Jewish community and to discover the many opportunities for personal involvement.”
Gold emphasizes that “this evening is designed to inspire conversation and reflection about ways that the LGBT Jewish community can become stronger and more engaged.” There will be no solicitation of funds.
Committee members include Craig Blackman, Gary Bramnick, Malcolm Lazin, Joan Levin, Lee Rosenfield and David Schwartz.
