Precipitation only heightened the determination of phon-a-thon volunteers who kicked off the 2014 Federation campaign.
The snow started falling during the afternoon shift on Super Sunday. Yet the precipitation outside the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy only heightened the determination of phon-a-thon volunteers to kick off the 2014 Federation Campaign in style.
The men, women, young adults, synagogue groups and communal organizations who took a shift or spent the entire day on the phones could not be thwarted in their quest to raise the dollars needed to support critical programs and services that touch the lives of Jews in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and in the former Soviet Union.
Feb. 9 was truly a Super Sunday for our Jewish community. The dedication of Super Sunday Co-Chairs Sheree and Wayne Bloch and Robin and Greg Zappin and the commitment of Federation’s Campaign Leadership — Chair and President-elect Bernard (Bud) Newman, and Vice Chairs Sara Minkoff, Gail Norry and Ellyn Golder Saft — achieved impressive results.
We raised more than $950,000 from more than 2,600 donors — and the tally continues to climb.
If you placed a call or responded to one placed by a Super Sunday volunteer, we thank you for making a difference in the lives of our people.
