Thanks to donations from the Philadelphia Jewish community, Federation has helped bring the remaining members of the Ethiopian community to Israel.
Thanks to the generous support of the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community, our Federation has achieved its goal of raising $170,000 for Completing the Journey — the campaign to bring the remaining members of the Ethiopian community to Israel.
Over the past three decades, our Federation has played an instrumental role in strengthening our global Jewish community by collaborating with the Government of Israel, The Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel and help them integrate into Israeli life.
Today, the Ethiopian-Israeli community is 130,000 strong and some of its members have risen to the highest echelons of Israeli society, serving as doctors, lawyers, teachers, businesspeople and politicians. Completing the Journey co-chairs Michelle Barrack, Lana Dishler, Michele Levin, Holly Nelson and Gail Norry thank everyone for their generosity.
