The acting dean of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College is leaving her post for a major role at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
Barbara Hirsh, the acting academic dean and director of the campus chaplaincy training program at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, has been appointed director of the Center for Jewish Life and Learning of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
Hirsh has been RRC's acting director since 1998. She also has been in charge of the rabbinic internship project, placing students in college positions, and teaches a course on "Rabbi as Organizational Manager."
She will assume her Federation post in mid-January.
