Katz JCC Prepares to Host Maccabi Games

The South Jersey JCC held a kick-off event in advance of hosting the games this coming August.

As host of the national JCC Maccabi Games this coming August, the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill kicked off its role with some help from Games mascot Macca-bee.

This is the first time the Katz JCC will host the national competition in 15 years, and is expected, according to a spokeswoman, to attract some 1,000 Jewish athletes worldwide in what is billed as the largest international sporting event for Jewish teens.

The center is also staging a special event for athletes with physical and mental disabilities.
