A Bucks County rabbi goes to Washington — and delivers the invocation before the House of Representatives.
It was a decidedly different congregation — and bimah — Rabbi Joshua Gruenberg of Congregation Beth El in Yardley addressed on Wednesday as he delivered the daily invocation as guest chaplain before the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
The Bucks County rabbi was invited to do the ritualistic honors by Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, who had spoken to Gruenberg's congregation last month on domestic and foreign issues, including Iran. Fitzpatrick introduced the rabbi in Congress.
Gruenberg was accompanied on the trip to Capitol Hill by his wife, Elissa, and two children, Kayla and Samuel.
