A former gunner in the Israel Defense Forces brought humor to a comedy night benefitting the Jewish National Fund.
They laughed, they cried — tears of fun, as it should be at an event called Comedy Night. The big winner was the Jewish National Fund of Southern New Jersey, benefitting from the evening at the Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill.
In on the joke was headliner Joel Chasnoff. The University of Pennsylvania-educated entertainer is also an author, whose 188th Crybaby Brigade: A Skinny Jewish Kid From Chicago Fights Hezbollah, a Memoir, details his time as a gunner in the Israel Defense Forces in 1997-98.
