Josh Kopelman and Wayne Kimmel will discuss seed investing and start-ups at the upcoming Think Fest in center City.
When Philadelphian Josh Kopelman ventures out, people listen. The founder of First Round Capital and, according to Philadelphia Magazine, the 2013 Best Start-Up Investigator, is serving as a panelist on the magazine’s second annual ThinkFest on Nov. 9 at the Kimmel Center.
Kopelman has garnered international attention for his economic expertise. Recently he served as a panelist in a conference focusing on venture capital in San Francisco. He was named to the Forbes 2012 Midas List of top tech investors. At the ThinkFest, he will discuss seed investing.
He's not the only communal name adding brain power to ThinkFest: A day earlier, Wayne Kimmel, managing partner of SeventySix Capital, himself honored a number of times for his economic expertise by Philadelphia Magazine, the Philadelphia Business Journal and other publications, will moderate “True Tales From Philly’s Start-Up Scene,” at Benjamin’s Desk, at 1701 Walnut St. Among those joining him as panelists: Rob Zuritsky, president of Parkway Parking; and Lindy Snider, CEO, Lindi Skin.
