Thirty-eight synagogues will accept donations to the upcoming Mitzvah Food Project High Holiday Food Drive.
Lee Hillerson, past chair of the Mitzvah Food Project (MFP), considers support of the MFP High Holiday Food Drive to be a “no-brainer.”
“For those of us in the community who never have to worry about where our next meal is coming from, participation in the drive is our responsibility and our opportunity to help those in need,” she said, adding that dropping off kosher, non-perishable and high-protein canned goods at a participating synagogue or MFP site is “a simple act that has an immediate and positive impact on so many people.”
Thirty-eight synagogues will accept donations on the dates listed below. Vegetarian, lower-salt, lower-sugar and low-fat items are particularly appreciated. The expiration dates on all donations must be December 2013 or later.
