Victor E. Hoffman, 87, a prominent builder and developer of luxury custom homes, died May 24.
A graduate of the Air Force Cadet School at Yale University, Hoffman served as a captain in the Pacific until the end of World War II.
An avid photographer, he bought Alsey Photo Labs after discharge from the service.
He then sold it a few years later, when his investment in real estate became his primary interest.
Victor Hoffman, Inc. and Executive Home Builders, among others, were corporations that Hoffman formed to build hundreds of homes until he retired in 1989.
He also invested in Israel bonds, and was a member of the Prime Minister's Club.
Hoffman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Brotkin Hoffman; daughter Fran L. Hoffman; son James M. Hoffman; brother Edward Hoffman; and five grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Harry Hoffman.
