Last month, Federation sponsored and hosted an event to celebrate last year’s merger of Philadelphia’s InterFaithways with the national organization InterfaithFamily. Ed Case, CEO of the Boston-based InterfaithFamily, came to the reception to formalize the creation of InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia.
The merger will ensure that the efforts that InterFaithways made to engage Greater Philadelphia’s interfaith families in Jewish life — such as Interfaith Family Shabbat — will continue and expand, buoyed by the added strength of InterfaithFamily’s world-class website, extensive content, resources for Jewish professionals and lay leaders, and connections through InterfaithFamily’s network.
InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia currently offers classes and workshops for interfaith couples and families and provides inclusivity training for synagogues and other Jewish institutions on how to be more welcoming to people in interfaith relationships and to engage them in richer Jewish lives.
InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia joins InterfaithFamily/Chicago and InterfaithFamily/San Francisco as this exciting initiative expands throughout the United States.
