Melanie Raush, in 8th grade at Kellman Brown Academy in Cherry Hill, N.J., was honored recently at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth 2013 Award Ceremony, held at Rowan University. The daughter of Helene and David Raush was recognized by the center “as one of the brightest young students in the nation” for achieving “exceptional performance on a rigorous, above-grade-level test given to academically talented second- through-eighth-grade students.”

Elihu Katz, acclaimed American and Israeli sociology pioneer and currently Distinguished Trustee Professor of Communication and Professor of Sociology at the U of P, has been profiled by the online Figure/Ground Communication. He also will be receiving an honorary degree from Northwestern University on June 21. The award-winning educator is, additionally, emeritus professor of sociology and communication at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and serves as scientific director of the Guttman Institute of Applied Social Research.
