All​an Getson, Founding Partner of Law Firm, Dies at Age 71

Allan Getson, 71, an attorney, died Jan. 8, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Getson was the founding partner of the law firm Getson & Schatz, P.C., and he practiced in the areas of real estate, corporate law, civil litigation and estate planning for 45 years. He consistently received the highest legal peer-review rating in Martindale-Hubbell for his professional and ethical standards in the practice of law.

He was a long-standing member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and its Real Property Section.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Getson attended Temple University and Washington & Lee University Law School. He also served in the U.S. Army.

He was a longtime congregant of Temple Adath Israel and a lifetime member of the Shekinah Lodge.

Getson is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judith E. Getson; daughter Lisa Getson-Brown; son Brian Getson; sister Carole Kogan-Steiner; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Edward Getson, and his sister, Faith Lipkin.
