Jewish New Year Greetings from President Leonard Barrack

The High Holidays always fill me with hope and optimism. They are a time for reflection — an opportunity to take stock of our achievements and shortfalls, and to strive to become better people.
Many of us will recite the traditional prayers at synagogues, and then continue the celebration of this sacred season in our homes. Our festive meals are made even richer by the company of family, friends and neighbors.
This year, let us share the promise associated with the Days of Awe with our extended family — the Jewish communities of Greater Philadelphia, of Israel and of the former Soviet Union.
Let us heed the call of the shofar — and work together to strengthen our people and enrich Jewish life in our community.
Let us all declare in one clear voice: "We are one people and one community."
I wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year.
L'Shanah Tovah!
